A secret....

About a month ago while shopping in Tri-Cities I discovered a new, faster way to Costco. Which Layton decided was our "secret" way to Costco. Saturday evening Matt and I were on a date in Tri-Cities and we went Layton and I's "secret" way. Yesterday, while in Tri-Cities again, I went the new way to Costco and told Layton that I showed daddy the new way. He was quiet for a minute and then said "Mom, a secret is something that you don't tell or show anyone." He was disappointed that I had told Matt our "secret" way. It made me feel terrible that I had broken his trust by giving up our special way. I find it amazing that I re-learned the meaning of a secret from a 4 year old.

As a side note....Layton was with me when I purchased a scooter for Trey a month before his birthday. Knowing what a secret is and the importance of not telling, Layton kept that gift a secret. He kept telling me "I am so excited for Trey to open his present on his birthday! He will be so excited!"

Kids are so good to remind us of some of those small and simple things. I love your blog changes!

Where do you live? My inlaws live in Pendleton, OR...you probably don't live there, but they go to Tri-cities all the time.

And not to mention the whole pregnant with Zander secret he kept also. I know who to go to if i need a secret kept. Who taught him that?

What a good kid!! It is nice to have those "reminders" sometimes!

I like the changes you made to your blog--I almost chose that same background! ;) Do you want me to ask Alayna if she will make you a new header??? Let me know--I'm sure she wouldn't mind--it is all "play" for her!
