Well, after several months of raising our first pigs they were slaughtered today. The butcher came to our house and then I guess he shot the pigs and slit the throats (the boys watched but I didn't care to). Zander wanted to see dad so I took him out there and his first comment to Matt was "Pigs owie". The older boys sat and watched the whole process, they thought it was pretty cool. YUK! I have always said that I didn't want pigs, but they were easy and kind of fun! And let me say that I am excited for the many yummy meals that will come from these pigs.

The worst part of watching is when they shot them and you watch them drop that is the worst. After that the rest is a breeze. NOT REALLY But not as bad as i had thought that it would be. I Guess that is a part of farm life..that is what i am told anyway.

Funny that our pigs were slaughtered just the week before. My kids thought it was very cool too. Elijah even decided that he wanted to take up the profession of the slaughter man!
