Trey

Trey had quite an exciting few days this past week. Thursday morning he had oral surgery having a super numerary (extra) tooth and two baby molars removed. The surgery was very quick--they took him back at 9am and he was done and awake at 9:30. Although he doesn't remember walking out to the car, so I don't think he was quite awake. He was out of it most of the day, but has been feeling better since. The surgeon said that Trey's teeth are at least a year ahead in development of other boys his age, interesting. He is hopeful that Trey will not be toothless for very long. The next step in the process is stage one for braces to pull his right lateral over where it is supposed to be to allow the canine to drop properly. (The tooth fairy left Trey $3 for his teeth and also left the teeth as a keepsake...ewww)

Trey's 9th birthday was Monday, but we celebrated Sunday while G&G Yearsley, G&G Barnes, and Doug & Kathryn were here (more to come on that later). We had Spaghetti pie (from Hannah's food blog), Krab salad (thanks Janet), veggies, grapes, and garlic bread (thanks mom). Followed by Raspberry cheesecake (thanks Jell-o) all per Trey's request. Trey got to open some presents Sunday afternoon. He got a roll-up puzzle pad, puzzle, a shirt, candy, money, and a sketch pad with pencils for drawing elk.

Monday we had a birthday party for him. He was so excited to have his friends over. Unfortunately only ONE friend came. I felt so bad for him because he had been looking forward to the party for a month. He still had a fun time with his friend and Chase and Layton. We had another of his favorites for dinner, sausage meatloaf, and then finished off his birthday with more presents. It is hard to believe that Trey is already 9! I can still remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. My how time flies! We are so grateful to have Trey in our family. He is such a generous boy, always willing to share with his brothers (even when they won't return the favor). He is a good example to everyone around him. Trey is one of the hardest working boys I know and he enjoys it. Trey enjoys math and it comes very easily to him, actually all subjects do. He is a very smart boy. We love having him in our family! Happy Birthday Trey! We love you!
