Christmas morning started early for us when the booby trap that Matt had set for the big boys was set off at 5 am. Before we went to bed Matt had tied a string from the boys' door to the futon with a bell attached, then strung it to the landing of the stairs and attached it to a plastic container. The string continued up to the top of the stairs where it was attached to a laundry basket with a stack of Z & M's toys in front of it. When Chase opened the bedroom door it rang it ultimately made the basket fall, sending the toys crashing to the bottom of the stairs. Matt are I were awakened by the crashing and had a good laugh. Chase later said that he was so scared by it that he was shaking. They also tried to get past the booby trap in the kitchen (stools with cups stacked on them) but ended up setting that one off as well. At 7am we all got up and got breakfast in the oven and the proceeded to open gifts. It was fun to see McKay's reaction to the presents this year. . . he was so excited! We all received so many nice things . . . we truly are very blessed. We enjoyed our traditional mountain man breakfast after cleaning up all the wrapping paper. The rest of the day was spent munching, playing new Wii games, napping, a paintball war between Matt and the big boys, and just enjoying each other's company. It was a nice, relaxing Christmas with just a few mishaps (M pulled the dutch oven off the counter onto his head and L choked on a 'Lil Smokie).
