One month!

It is so hard to believe that Declan is already one month old. It hardly seems fair how quickly they grow and change. I am sure there are some who cannot wait for their babies to be out of the newborn stage, but I absolutely love the newborn stage. I love how they smell, you can cuddle and they don't fight it, they are so tiny, there is such a special spirit that comes with newborns, and so much more. I am sad that my baby is already growing. Yet I am excited that he is having more awake periods and that in the next week or so he may possibly start smiling and cooing.

Declan is such a good baby. He is a great sleeper, sleeping at least 4 hours at a time. Which is good because I have a hard enough time functioning on the sleep I do get. He is a great eater, although I am afraid that he doesn't tolerate chocolate well so I need to stop eating it--good for my waistline I guess. He struggles with burping, and spits up quite a bit when we do get a burp out of him. But he is gaining weight so that means that he isn't spitting up too much. At his 1 month appointment this week he weighed 9 lbs 12 oz and measured 22 inches.

Isn't he just SO cute. Yes, they grow up way too quickly. I love their smell also.

He is such a cute baby! I know what you mean, I love the newborn stage. It seems so much easier to know what to do for them too at that age. Change the diaper, burp, food, sleep...that's about it versus my one year old who is throwing a tantrum over who knows what! =) I'm so happy for you and your wonderful family!

What a sweetie! I, also, love the newborn stage. I can sit and hold a new baby for hours and hours. We'll see how I do now that I am older and have a 6 year old to deal with this time around.
