April Fools

I thought it would be fun to do something fun for April Fools so I found some recipes from Family Fun to make for dinner. We had grilled cheese sandwiches (toasted pound cake and frosting), salad, applesauce, cupcakes (meatloaf with mashed cauliflower tinted blue), and colored water. It was so funny to see the older boys' reactions. Chase bit into the sandwich and said "Mmmm." It took a minute for him to realize that it was cake and frosting. He thought it was cheese in a can. Trey took a bite of the cupcake and said "Eww and put it down." He told me that it was the worst cupcake he had eaten. When I finally told them what it was they actually really liked the meatloaf and mashed cauliflower. On a side note---I have heard that you can mash cauliflower as a healthy substitue for cauliflower, but had never tried it until yesterday. It was really good. All of the boys thought it was potatoes and really like it. It was a fun dinner!

You are such a good mom! This looks like a lot of fun. I want to taste the grilled cheese/cake. :) By the way..I have heard that before about substituting cauliflower for potatoes...I think it was on the biggest loser. :)
