April 10th was Declan's big day, his blessing! Ben & Lisa's family came Friday afternoon and spent the weekend with us. The kids had fun playing "annie-I-over", watching movies, and just being cousins. The adults went out to dinner and Kiwi-Loco Friday night (thanks Chase for babysitting). Saturday Lisa and I went to Twin Falls to pick up last minute food items for the meal on Sunday. When we got home Chase, Trey, Jenna, Ben and Matt went shooting despite the wind and cool temperatures. Before bed the kids decorated a cake for Aunt Kathryn's birthday and had chubby bunny contest (wish I would have gotten pics of that).
Jon and Ben got into a bit of a frosting war after the kids finished with the cake.
Once the kids went to bed the guys (Jon, Matt, & Ben) had a chubby bunny contest. Jon was the winner with 10 marshmallows!
Then the girls (Janae, Lisa, & Diana) competed....Diana won with six.
Sunday morning was spent getting ready for church, preparing the food for dinner, and the kids playing.
Sacrament was at 2:50--so late. Declan looked so cute in the blessing outfit that Mama & Papa Barnes bought him (thank you). In the blessing Matt said that Declan has been born into an age of great technology and blessed him to use the technology to share the Gospel. It was a very nice blessing. After church everyone came to our house for a dinner of chicken salad pita sandwiches, fruit salad, broccoli/cauliflower salad, oriental salad, veggies, chips, fruit pizza, rice krispie treats, cookies, and cake. Then everyone had to get on the road since it was so late. Thank you to everyone that came and shared in Declan's special day. We appreciate your love and support.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!! Sorry we couldn't be there too. We'll be there for the next one! ;) Love him in his little white outfit.
We had so much fun with you all! I have pictures of the kids' chubby bunny contest that I have yet to download to the computer, but I can send them on to you later. Thank you for having us!
