Mama's visit

Last week my dad had to check on a job in Twin Falls so my mom came along with him to stay a couple of days. We had a fun time playing games, hitting the cereal sale at Albertsons and pasta sale at Smiths, visiting, pruning trees, and starting a project. Zander especially had fun sitting at the piano with Mama and singing primary songs. Thanks for coming Mom, it was fun to have you!

Week in review

We have had a fun filled week so I thought I would post some of the pics from it. Last Saturday we went down to Gooding to celebrate Doug's birthday with Doug and Kathryn. We had pizza mummies, cake and ice cream, and pudding. The boys put on a puppet show for us while the adults sat around enjoying each other's company. Grandpa and Grandma Yearsley were supposed to be there but were unable to make it due to bad roads. We missed you!

Tuesday the boys and I headed over to Boise for my DR appt (while Matt headed up to WA for work). I pulled the boys out of school and we stayed at Papa and Mama Barnes' for the night. That evening we went to the local YMCA and the kids went swimming. They had a blast going down the slide and playing with their cousins and uncle Jaron. Zander got to stay home with Papa, his buddy. Thanks dad and mom!

Thursday evening I met Matt on his way home from WA and passed the kids off to him so that I could have a girl's night out with Kathryn. We went to the "Death By Chocolate" charity event in Twin Falls. It was insane. We walked in the events center and the smell of chocolate wafted out. There were 5 catagories (cake, brownie, cookie, candy, unique dessert) with 5 entries for each category--all chocolate. Each attendee was given a ballot and you were to vote for one entry from each category after sampling them. It was yummy, but I do have to admit that it was a bit much chocoate for me. So I brought some home for Matt to sample. It was fun to be able to get out for a few hours. Thanks for a great time Kathryn! And thanks to my wonderful hubby for taking ALL the boys!

Catching up....

I meant to post this before we moved but just ran out of time. So I am playing catch up before I post about our move.

The week before we moved my mom came to stay with me and the boys while Matt was in Burley. It was fun to have her there with us...it was a good break for me and the boys liked having "mama" there to visit. My mom got a glimpse into the crazy life of young mom (I think she might have forgotten what it is a like). She especially got a kick out the 10 lb bag of chocolate chips crashing to the floor, the plant rack crashing to the table and sending broken pot and dirt EVERYWHERE, and the choas that ensued at 3:30 when the boys got home from school!! Mama took Zander for a bike ride one moring and he loved it. We got a LOT accomplished during the week. Monday was spent in Tri-cities shopping for material; Tuesday was spent canning spaghetti sauce and cutting squares of material for quilts; Wednesday we cut MORE quilts squares, did a rush cleaning on the house for a showing, and a picnic at the park; Thursday we went to my DR appointment where my mom got to hear McKay's heartbeat and then we spent the rest of the day sewing the quilts together (1 twin size and 1 double-to match the crib bedding I got for McKay...I think we matched it quite well); Friday morning we left and headed back to Boise where the boys and I dropped off my mom and then we headed on to Burley to visit Matt.
