Matt Update....

We went to the ENT specialist yesterday. We spent more time in the waiting room than we did with the DR. The DR pulled out "Fred the Head" (a model of the bones in the head) and showed us exactly where the fractures are. He has one to the side of the eye and then in the back of the eye. He checked the movement and function of the eye and determined that although the bone is pushed in a bit it doesn't make any sense to do surgery. If the eye movement was affected then they would have had to do surgery. We are grateful that there will be no surgery! He said that Matt will probably have some pain there for another 3-4 months but that he should heal up nicely! That was great news. I took some more pictures of Matt to show the progression of the bruising. His eye is looking quite nasty right now. He is feeling much better than he has been so it seems as though he is on the road to recovery! :)

Scary looking red spot in the eye. Glad there isn't a surgery in the near future.
Take care Matt.

Janae - I just found your blog (and Jill's and Derek's) through a long search. I normally don't look that much around on the computer, but seeing as how I have two broken feet and not much else to do I looked around and look what I found. Looks like things have been better (at least for Matt) That looks like it hurt. Hope things are going well for you. Check our blog if you are ever bored. millersincolorado.blogspot.com

Sorry about the eye!!! It looks like it hurts! I'm glad there wasn't any damage to the eye, muscles, or nerves! I bet the CT scan looked awesome (OK...the nurse is coming out in me) I hope you're starting to feel better!
