The Prophet said to plant a garden....

...so that's what we did! Wednesday evening after Matt got home fron work we went out and planted our garden. It was not the nicest of days...windy and quite chilly but everyone had a great time. Chase divided the garden into sections---Chase, Trey, and Matt each have their own. Layton and I share a section. Then we drew seeds out of a bag and those were the ones we planted in our sections. We are each responsible for weeding our own sections. I told them that I think it is only fair that they help can the goods from their sections as well. We planted watermelon, cantalope, honeydew, corn, beans, peas, spinach, lettuce, beets, carrots, eggplant, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and will be adding peppers and tomatoes. It will be nice to have a garden again this year--it just didn't work out last year (too busy getting the yard in).

Wow, that is quite the garden. I think that you can't classify it as a garden when you have all that, it is a mini-farm.

Good job guys!!! I think that is a great idea to divide it up like that and have everyone in charge of taking care of their section! I want to plant a garden, too, but I don't know if we will this year! I hope your garden produces well! Good luck!

With the price of food on the rise, you will be glad to have that nice, big garden. Happy Weeding.

It is good to see you planting a big garden. We will be up in the Fall to help you harvest it.
