Jammin' it up

A couple weeks ago I order 8lbs of strawberries with our Bountiful Basket to make freezer jam. After some help from the boys on the first two batches they decided they wanted to make the rest of the jam on their own. Chase cut and smashed the strawberries. Z and M helped measure the sugar. C, T, and L each cooked their own pot of pectin and stirred it into the strawberry and sugar mixture. Then they all put the jam mixture into the containers. They did a great job and I really appreciated the help, as did Declan--it allowed him to be fed. I am grateful that our boys want to help out in the kitchen. They are learning skills that they can use throughout their lives. They might even be able to teach their future wives and children how to make jam.
