Matt was able to borrow a swather (or swapper as Zander says it) from a friend in the ward to cut our pasture. Zander and McKay were so excited to be able to ride in the "swapper" with Matt. They made one pass down the field and the chain snapped. After working on it for a while it was decided they didn't have everything needed to fix it. Matt picked up the needed items the next day and made a go of it the next day. After letting the hay dry for more than a week it was time to bale it. Once again after a little while the baler broke down. Matt worked to fix it, but to no avail. So the baler sat for a couple days until our friend was able to come fix it. Chase was able to run the baler for a short time--he thought that he was pretty cool. That night we had to get the bales off the field so we could turn the water on our already very dry grass. Unfortunately we were missing our big help--Chase was on Trek. So that left Trey and Layton to roll the bales and Matt and I to buck them onto the trailer. The temperature was in the upper 90's and the bales were super heavy! We quickly realized that we are not as young as we would like to think we are. It was a long night, but we were able to get all 135+ bales off the grass and onto the trailer.
