Were given LOTS of apples from friends this year. I have been putting off doing anything with them because I tried a couple of weeks ago and it took WAY too long. We bought the fruit strainer attachment for the KitchenAid and I finally made time to try it out today. The boys were out of school because of Veteran's day so they got to be my helpers! They had a lot of fun smashing the apples into the strainer and then eating the peel and stuff that come oozing out into the garbage bowl. I am so glad that we got the attachment because it made everything go so much smoother and faster. We were abl e to can 24 quarts and 14 pints of applesauce. Although we still have more than HALF of the apples that we were given still left to do. 
Zander turned 5 months today! It is weird to think that it has already been 5 months, but at the same time it seems like it has been longer. We are glad that he is a part of our family. He is such a sweet little boy! He has the cutest laugh and a sweet smile!

You got a ton of applesauce done! I can't believe you still have so many apples left! Fun! Fun! It sure sounded like the boys had a good time helping, though!
