August...

In an attempt to stay caught up with this family journal this post will be a compilation of what went on the middle part of August. . . the rest will follow.
Matt was home for a couple days before heading back to Wisconsin.  We took advantage of the time with dad and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, picked cherries, and played on the trampoline.

After dad went back to Wisconsin the boys and mom celebrated 'National Smore Day" (August 10th) by roasting what else--S'Mores!
Layton caught a snake which was later the cat's dinner--Zander wasn't quite sure what to think of it
Photo op with the boys in their tie-dye shirts
We met Grandma Yearsley and Diana at Ross Park in Pocatello for an aternoon of fun in the sun.  Declan especially loved the water and didn't cry at all when the tube we were on flipped and we went under the water.
Kiwi Loco on kids night--the boys loaded up their $1 cup and then went back for another
Playing 'monkeys at the zoo' with grandma
Chase made his first attempt at cream puffs--they were super yummy!

The rest of August following soon . . .

and then there were TWO

Last night we drove to Pocatello to meet Grandma and Grandpa Yearsley so they could take the three oldest boys for the week. The boys look forward to this ALL year long....fishing, swimming, staying up late, etc. I must admit that Matt and I were kind of ready to hand them off to the grandparents after our drive over. Too much fighting, taunting, and just being siblings. So now we are home with Zander and McKay. Our house is definitely much quieter, but I miss the energy of the boys. And of course, their help. I know that they are going to have a FANTASTIC time with their grandparents and will have all kinds of fun stories to share with us. Meanwhile, Matt and I will be busting our tail ends on the hosue! Yay!

Recap

This past weekend we drove to Eastern Idaho for a quick visit. Friday night we stayed at G&G Yearsley's house. It was nice to just sit and chat while the boys played games. Matt and I didn't get much sleep due to Zander not feeling well and crying all night, poor little guy. We got up at 6:30 to get ready to head over to Ben and Lisa's in Rigby. Ben had purchased an old cow for us to split. Matt, Ben, and Chase (along with a couple other people) spent the moring butchering the cow. I sent the camera with Matt and asked him to take pictures. He FORGOT!!! However, he did get this one of Chase. Leave it up to him to take a gross picture like this. (Chase kept some of the bones to feed to Blackjack).

Lisa and I stayed home with the rest of the kids and hung out. It was fun to spend time visiting with Lisa. I definitely missed that when we were in WA. She made some sugar cookies for the kids to decorate. They had a blast decorating cookies. They piled so many candies on their cookies I am amazed they were able to fit them in their mouths. The cousins had a great time playing together. I am glad that they are able to spend time like this with their cousins. We had wanted to stay longer but had to be back so that Matt and I could speak in church the next day. Thank you Ben & Lisa and Grandpa & Grandma for a fun weekend! It was great to see everyone!

I almost forgot to mention that McKay rolled over for the first time while at Ben and Lisa's. I put him on his tummy and he rolled over--three times! My baby is growing up so fast. He is beginning to act more like a person and less like a helpless baby. He is grabbing at toys, smiling a TON, has laughed a couple times, and babbles like crazy. He is definitely a social little boy. He loves to be talked to, played with, and just be a part of what is going on. He is such a fun addition to our family!

Grandpa & Grandma Yearsley visit!!!

This past weekend Grandpa and Grandma Yearsley made the long 10 hour journey up to see us. Doug and Kathryn were graduating in Moscow so Kim and Janet decided to make a weekend out of it and visit us as well. The boys were so excited to see Grandpa and Grandma (it has been since October since we saw them last). Friday the boys had to show G&G the pond behind our house and everything else they could think of. They even had both G&G jumping on the trampoline! The boys begged to go fishing so they went to one of the local lakes around here...didn't get a bite but had fun anyway. Then they came home and we roasted hot dogs for dinner. Grandpa and Grandma left early Saturday morning to drive to Moscow for the Graduation and to spend time with Doug and Kathryn. Then there were back in time for our church to listen to Matt speak in sacrament (he did a great job!). Sunday afternoon was filled with games and enjoying our time together. Then they packed up and left early Monday morning. It was so fun to have Grandpa and Grandma come visit us! We love you two!
