September 2012

Mud Fight!  What is it with boys and mud?  After the garden got watered the first Saturday afternoon in September the boys got into a mud fight.  What a mess, but they had a blast!  Zander didn't care much for the spray with the water hose to clean off--it was cold.  Ah, how I love well water! :)
Hmm...I think Chase might have dished out more than he got!

Could you tell this was Trey?  Crazy...looks nothing like him!
Zander stayed out of the thick of it, but wasn't safe enough to avoid the cold hose in order to set foot in the house

The day Keely and I came home from the hospital the boys decided to have a fish fry.  It was a bit overwhelming for me, to say the least, but the boys had fun cooking up all the fish that had caught this summer.

I wrote about the birth of Keely, but here are some pictures of her (& the fam) during her first month.  We love her so much!

Football, football, and more football!!!  The months of September and October were full of football, Monday through Saturday.  I so enjoy watching the boys play football....even if it is at a freezing cold morning game or an even colder and windier night game.  I like to see them have fun.  To succeed.  To see their confidence grow.
Chase played on the 8th grade team for West Minico.  Again, he was one of the tallest and biggest players on the team.  He played Tight End and Defensive End.  He made 1 touchdown and a TON of tackles.

Trey played Running Back, Defensive End and Tackle.  He was quite the little star this year making 1 interception and scoring about 17 touchdowns.

Layton played for the first time this year and while he didn't have the best coach yet he still had fun.  Especially after he become the center--meaning he got to hike the ball to the QB.  He did such a great job in this position!

Declan had fun putting on the boys' football gear.  The helmets were so heavy they usually made him topple over. :)

Although she never got out of the car seat or Moby wrap, Keely was the boys' biggest cheerleader

FOOTBALL 2011

Another football season has come and passed.  I have to admit that I am sad that it is over--I really enjoy watching our boys play.  This year Chase played on the West Minico 7th grade team.  This was a fun year for him.  In the past he hasn't been able to carry the ball due to being above the weight limit set for the Youth Football League.  That all goes out the window with school ball.  Because Chase was the tallest on his team his coach decided to have Chase play Tight End.  Chase was nervous about having to catch the ball, but he did well.  He made several 2-point conversions and was able to gain some first downs for the team over the course of the season.  He also played Defensive End and made a bunch of really good tackles.  He really came into his own this season.  It was fun to see his confindence increase.

Trey was on the fifth grade Mini-Cassia Youth Contact Football League West team.  Part way through the season the coach realized that Trey was fast and decided to play him in the Running Back position.  His first game playing RB he scored 3 touchdowns!  He had an awesome season and really enjoyed the new position he played.  It will be exciting to see what he does next year.

August part 2

Matt finally came home from Wisconsin on the 18th of August. That night dad and mom (& Declan) went to dinner and stayed in a hotel in Twin Falls while the boys stayed home with Grandma Yearsley.  Grandma headed back to Hamer the next day and we spent the afternoon at Dierkes Lake swimming, playing in the sand, fishing, and playing on the playground.  It was so fun to spend time as a family again!

August 22nd marked the start of another school year!  Although mom was ready at this point after having been a single parent for nearly a month it did seem as though the summer just flew by way too fast.

August 27th marked the offical start of football season with the Annual MCYCFL Jamboree.  It ran a bit late, but it was still fun to see to see Chase and Trey play mini-games.

August 30th Matt celebrated his 36th birthday!  It was a rushed night with him getting home late then we had a dinner of roasted red peper and sausage pasta, salad, pineapple, and italian sodas (all his choosing of course).  He quickly opened his gifts and then it was time for Better Than __ cupcakes.  Then he and Chase were off to mutual for mud football--all of this took place in less than an hours time.  PHEW!

Fall = Football

It is wild to think that football season has already come and gone. Life was busy racing to and from practices 4 nights a week and then 2 games at different fields on Saturdays, but it was so much fun! I really enjoy watching my boys play football. This was Chase's second year playing and Trey's first year. They both did a great job with many sacks and tackles. They can be quite the aggressive players when they want to be. I look forward to many more years of watching my boys play football.

Football....finally!

After two years of wanting to play football, broken arm and move to Idaho got in the way of those years, Chase is now playing football. Practices twice a week and games Wednesday night or Saturday morning keep us pretty busy, but he is loving it! He plays both defensive and offensive line. This past Saturday he did a great job keeping the opposing team from scoring a touchdown for 3 downs when they were just a couple yards from the endzone (he kept tackling the QB). It has been fun to watch him play and be a part of a team. They have a great coach that is patient with them and is really teaching the boys how to play the game. We are hoping that the coach will continue to move up with Chase due to the fact that his son is on the team. They have a good strong team that works together really well. So far they are undefeated and are having fun playing.
